Oil Slick in The Gulf

I have been watching and waiting on the oil slick to hit our area. Every day that passes allows myself and other fellow locals, and even the tourists another day to enjoy the beautiful beaches that we are blessed with in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Dauphin Island. That is just here in Alabama. It's also the great state of Florida and the wonderful Islands off of the shores of Mississippi. Two of my favorites being Horn and Petit Bois Islands. If you have never had the pleasure of sitting foot on Horn or Petit Bois Island you would never understand the beauty of such a place. I could tell you about it all day, but until you have been there you just wouldn't get it. Untouched by human hands. It is just all natural. Relaxing, laid back. Kicking it in a lawn chair and having a cold beer or a mixed drink Closing your eyes and listing to the waves break with your feet in the edge of the water. (So Heaven!) And then getting your ass up to enjoy a huge tub of craw fish with friends and strangers. Later when the time is right slip away with your mate to your favorite romantic spot on the Island. (many places to hide!) There is no match anywhere that can touch it. To think this may be destroyed by a bunch of dumbasses that refused to see the warnings that were right in front of them.
The almighty dollar has once again taken control of power minds and made them blind to the beauty that is around them. So to them I say, “You Suck” “Kiss my Ass” and “Fuck You”!
Now all we can do is wait and see how much damage will be done by an oil leak that continues to pump out over 70,000 barrels of oil in the Gulf everyday. It's very possible and more likely that oil will wind up on the west coast of Florida and maybe up the entire east coast as well.
So now, all we can do is get ready to deal with it, and deal with it we will. Because we are strong. We have been through many obstacles. Camille, Fredrick, Ivan, Katrina. (Nodine - ass clown)
We will come back. So get ready Lower Alabama. Time to show your true colors once again.
